Where did Wizzy™ start?
Welcome to Wizzy™ where we believe that sweets can be both delightful and nourishing.
OUR MISSION
Our sweets are lovingly handcrafted with natural ingredients and sweetened with raw, unheated honey, the original design for sweet snacks. At Wizzy™ we believe that the joy of indulging in a sweet treat should never come at the expense of health and conscience.
OUR FAMILY
Our journey began with a simple yet profound realisation: not all children presenting with symptoms, are neurodiverse . We noticed firsthand how certain additives, preservatives, and colorants found in commercial sweets, negatively impacted children's behaviour and overall well-being. These additives seemed to have a significant impact on their central nervous system, leading to behavioural challenges or symptoms that influenced their daily lives.
Determined to make a difference, we decided to create our own line of sweets that are free from artificial colorants, preservatives, and other synthetic additives. We wanted to offer a tasty product that supports health and well-being.
At Wizzy™, we are more than just a brand; we are a family. With children of our own and a shared passion for health and happiness, Wizzy™ is committed to creating products that reflect our values and faith.

Understanding the Impact of Artificial Additives on Children’s Behaviour

Our commitment stems from our personal experiences as parents of children with neurodiversity. We’ve seen firsthand how certain artificial additives can affect behaviour and well-being. The Science Behind Artificial Additives
Artificial additives, such as colourings and preservatives, are commonly found in many processed foods and sweets. These substances are often used to enhance the appearance and shelf-life of products. However, research has raised concerns about their potential impact on children’s behaviour, particularly those with neurodevelopmental conditions like ADHD.
The Southampton Study
One of the most significant studies in this field is the Southampton study, published in 2007 in the Lancet. The researchers investigated the effects of artificial food colourings and the preservative sodium benzoate on children’s behaviour. The study included both 3-year-olds and 8-9-year-olds and found that the consumption of these additives was associated with an increase in hyperactive behaviour. As a result, some countries have taken steps to limit or ban these additives in foods, especially those aimed at children.

The Founders
Dr Estelle specialises in child behaviour and development. With an autistic daughter who has multiple health challenges, developing a healthy treat so her daughter could enjoy sweets, was a personal passion
Trevor has lived and worked in multiple nations and have four children of his own. Seeing the dire effect of unhealthy food on the behaviour of children world-wide, he has a passion to see children enjoy healthy food.
Wizzy™, founded by two parents, Trevor and Estelle, set out on a mission to restore joy, health, and honesty into children’s treats.
Over the years, across continents and family journeys, Trevor and Estelle nurtured Wizzy™ as a labour of love and science, proving that healthy can be wonderfully sweet.

Trevor, a father of four who has lived and worked across the globe, witnessed a common issue: unhealthy food negatively impacting children’s energy, focus, and behaviour wherever he went. This experience ignited a passion within him to make a change. He envisioned creating treats that children would love and parents could trust, driven by his unwavering belief that there must be something better.
Dr. Estelle is a specialist in trauma, child behaviour, and learning challenges. She assists parents and children overcome emotional and learning barriers, enabling them to develop, grow, and thrive optimally. Dr. Estelle’s own experiences have inspired her work. Her daughter lives with severe epilepsy, multiple health conditions, and significant developmental challenges, while her son faced severe ADHD due to birth complications.
Driven by deep love and determination, Dr. Estelle embarked on a research, mixing, and testing journey to develop a healthy, natural treat that her children could safely enjoy.
